Jaguar XKss 1957

An old personnal work focused on texturing

Imperfections on the chromium parts are so good.

Sweet! With such great texturing it’s a shame some parts have so little polygons like headlight and the side window. If it’s a nice quad model I would give it another subdiv iteration

Great renders and materials! And now since he mentioned it I agree with Oscar regarding the polygons :slightly_smiling_face:

  1. headlight refraction and reflections are perfect
  2. the leather on the back of the seats is super realistic
  3. the corrosion on the trim of the window looks sooooooo good
  4. is the damange to the screw heads in the last image modeled or textured?

overall that is some superior attention to material detail!

Hi Matt all are textures and have been done in substance painter , regarding low poly I also agree with oscar but I was just training myself on texturing , the model can be download for free here https://wirewheelsclub.com/models/1957-jaguar-xkss/ and even be subdiv or rework for better geometry looking

He has some great models to play with I see, really nice! Nice to see more Substance Painter users, smart mask is a friend

This is mad😵wowwwww i’m obsessed with it

I mean did you guys see the leather on back seat??!!!

I was also looking for a model to use as a practice thing and came across this one:

Ferrari 330 P4 CGI (gumroad.com)

It’s created in Maya which I don’t have but the FBX is quads so easy to do some subdivision. Well easy, my PC has a HARD time with only 64GB of memory trying to actually get it done.

The model is rather very detailed but the FBX is not optimal on the bodywork and the headlight glass, subdividing basically is not always the right solution to refine the model this sometimes even breaks other concerns, In this case I suppose that the native Maya model must be much more detailed than the FBX export given the size of the file

Yeah I was thinking the same, if I feel like it I might install Maya just to convert it as I think it’s also a closed format like .max.
